Our top Elizabeth City rental property booking tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Elizabeth City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Elizabeth City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Elizabeth City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home in the Elizabeth City area:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Discounts Avail. Cozy 2 LVNG RM, Baths, Patios. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Elizabeth City beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
