Getting the best Elizabeth City vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Elizabeth City vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Elizabeth City area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Elizabeth City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the perfect Elizabeth City rental:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Discounts Avail. Cozy 2 LVNG RM, Baths, Patios. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
