How to find the best Elizabeth City rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Elizabeth City. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Elizabeth City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Elizabeth City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Comfort & Quiet in a Central location has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Elizabeth City destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
