Strategies to get the perfect Elizabeth City vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in the Elizabeth City area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Elizabeth City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Elizabeth City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Elizabeth City area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Elizabeth City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your Elizabeth City rental:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Waterfront Beauty! Incredible Sunsets, Exotic Birds and Gorgeous Water Views! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Elizabeth City attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
