This is a private condominium, with multiple other residential units. There are no shared amenities for the building, only shared common areas that include the lobby and the stairwells. Our gorgeous historic building was also constructed in the 1920’s and has many original features—with that, it lacks some of the insulation that we are used to today. This means that you may hear neighbors above or beside you occasionally. You might also hear cars drive by outside. To reduce any noises for lighter sleepers, we have an industrial fan and also provide ear plugs/eye masks during your stay.

Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Elizabeth City area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Elizabeth City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best Elizabeth City vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Historic Condo in the Heart of Downtown Elizabeth City has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Elizabeth City beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
