Booking the best Elizabeth City vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Elizabeth City. Reserve your Elizabeth City vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Elizabeth City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental in Elizabeth City:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Relax and enjoy the calm has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Elizabeth City vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
