Moth Boat Park
Details

Moth Boat Park on Elizabeth City's waterfront is a monument to the Moth Boat. Captain Joel Van Sant designed the moth boat in 1929 and the first one was built at the Elizabeth City Shipyard.

Details

More waterfront condominiums with a small boat docked in front. The brick building in the distance is also a condominium building on the Pasquotank River.

104 W Main St
Details

This is the Burfoot-Toxey House built in 1901 for Noah Burfoot who owned the local yarn mill. The design for this Colonial Revival house was supplied by George F. Barber who operated a large mail-order architectural business in Knoxville, Tennessee. Note the ribbon-and-tassel garland on the front bay.

Details

The Hilton-Pailin House was built in 1855 and is of the Antibellum Greek Revival Style. James Hinton, the builder of this house, was a prosperous county farmer. Later the house was purchased by WIlliam Pailin who owned the fishery, shipyard and grist and saw mills. The porch and entrance fanlight were added in the early 1900's.

Details

The Dr. Isaiah Fearing House was built in 1906 and is a Colonial Revival style home. Dr. Fearing was a local physician for 56 years. The design for the house was supplied by George F. Barber who operated a large mail-order architectural business in Knoxville, Tennessee. Some of the popular design elements of the time were manufactured by the local Kramer lumber mill.
